Well, I have it.

hick
yes, I bought my copy of Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince.  No, I haven't read it yet.  Five took me three days, but I have to finish the Persian Boy first.  Then some fanfic too I'm sure.  What I need is a good three day weekend like I had for Goblet of Fire and maybe my kitten.  Soon, very soon.

See? Aren't you glad Katherine Kurtz isn't huge with our flists? Not that I've heard anything about her newest book lately and her last one actually annoyed me. Well, you won't hear any spoilers out of me, at least not until we can chat on ICQ and know we've both read it.

And I've started reading. :-)

Pretty sure it was In the King's Service. I've seen rumblings on Amazon that they're doing the Codex in paperback so maybe she got distracted?

Both In the King's Service and King Kelson's Bride left me a little flat.

Hmm, yeah. I wasn't overly fond of "Service", either, even if I enjoyed reading it. "Bride" ... would've been MUCH better if it hadn't been so, well, rushed, I guess. Araxie seems like a fun character. And I remember being annoyed by all the changes in names and expressions; all that quasi-French and stuff seemed pretty contrived to me.

Yeah, "Bride" would have been better if she had spent less time on the politics and more time on well, say his bride? LOL, I agree that Araxie seems to be a facinating character and she's usually very good at making intriguing, facinating, female characters. It was what I didn't like about "Service." She put in this really complex, devious, female and then wasted her in favor of Alaric's mother, who was boring. They made such an impression I can't remember the characters names.
